Carl Finnson was a staff member from 2002‒2007. Carl came to BRC through the Camp Counselor USA program; he is Swedish (Erik Joelsson coincidentally is also Swedish).
Carl spent almost his entire Birch Rock career on the waterfront teaching swimming. In fact, he eventually took command of the waterfront as the Waterfront Director. He was also a lifeguard instructor and helped train our CITs to be Red Cross certified lifeguards.
Birch Rock has had many CCUSA staff members from all of the world come and go from season to season, but Carl settled right in and returned year after year for five summers. Kudos to Carl for having the dedication to come to camp from Sweden every summer.
